Why this score?

This score is based on PropFirmV's review methodology, including real cost, rule clarity, payout terms, drawdown structure, platform fit, beginner friendliness, and overall usability.

Quick Verdict

Take Profit Trader runs a single-step PRO evaluation with a tight intraday daily loss limit and EOD trailing drawdown that locks at starting balance once cleared. Best for disciplined futures day traders on NinjaTrader or Tradovate who want a clean one-step path and fast withdrawals; less ideal if you swing-trade or dislike daily loss caps.

PropFirmV Take

Take Profit Trader (TPT) is a US-based futures prop firm that built its name on a single-step PRO evaluation, regular promo discounts, and a withdrawal process traders consistently rate as fast. The rule stack favors disciplined intraday trading: a strict daily loss limit on evaluation, an end-of-day trailing drawdown on funded accounts that locks at starting balance once cleared, and bracket-friendly platforms (NinjaTrader, Tradovate). It's a good fit if you want one of the simplest paths to a funded futures account, but the daily loss limit and prohibition on certain news/automated strategies catch traders who don't read the rules carefully.

Who Take Profit Trader Is Best For

  • Futures day traders on NinjaTrader or Tradovate who want a single-step evaluation
  • Traders who value a fast, well-documented withdrawal process
  • Buyers who price-shop with promo codes — TPT runs them frequently
  • Traders comfortable respecting a strict intraday daily loss limit

Who Should Avoid Take Profit Trader

  • You hold positions overnight or trade primarily as a swing trader
  • You dislike intraday daily loss caps that end your day on a touch
  • You need MT4, MT5, cTrader, or forex/CFD instruments
  • You rely on news scalping or fully automated strategies (restricted)

Rules Explained in Plain English

Daily loss limit (evaluation)
The PRO evaluation has no daily loss limit — only the EOD trailing drawdown applies. You can lose any amount intraday as long as your end-of-day balance stays above the trailing floor.
Trailing drawdown (evaluation)
End-of-day trailing on the evaluation: the floor moves up with your closing balance only, so intraday spikes and unrealized gains do not tighten it.
Trailing drawdown (funded PRO)
Funded PRO accounts trail your peak balance intraday including unrealized gains — every new tick of open profit ratchets the floor up. New PRO+ live accounts opened after June 30, 2026 use EOD trailing instead of intraday.
Minimum trading days
Five trading days minimum on the evaluation before you can claim a pass — even if you hit the target on day one.
News & automation
Holding through high-impact news and fully automated strategies are restricted on funded PRO; manual discretionary trading is the expected use case.

Rule Traps to Check

  • Daily loss limit on the evaluation is calculated from prior EOD balance, not from the day's high — easy to misread
  • Trailing drawdown only locks when your EOD balance clears starting balance + trailing amount; an open-trade spike won't lock it
  • Payout cadence and minimums change by tier — re-check the current PRO Account Agreement before counting on a specific payout day
  • Certain instruments and overnight holds are restricted on funded accounts

Payouts and Consistency Rules

Funded PRO accounts pay 80% of profits up to $10,000 in cumulative payouts and 90% above that threshold. The payout process is one of TPT's stronger selling points — traders consistently report fast turnaround once a request is approved. Confirm the current minimum payout, request cadence, and any in-period consistency expectations in the PRO Account Agreement before basing a cash-flow plan on them.

Is Take Profit Trader Legit?

Take Profit Trader is a US-based futures prop firm founded in 2021 with a documented payout track record and an active community of funded traders. Like any prop firm, success depends on respecting the published rules: the most common reason traders fail evaluations or lose funded accounts is the intraday daily loss limit, not platform or payout issues.

Take Profit Trader Discount Code Status

Take Profit Trader runs frequent sitewide promo discounts on PRO evaluations. PropFirmV does not currently host a verified TPT code — when one is added it will appear on the discounts hub.

Best Alternatives to Take Profit Trader

  • MyFundedFutures review

Wider menu of plan styles (Starter, Expert, Milestone, Elite) if you want to choose your rule stack rather than take TPT's single PRO model.

Take Profit Trader FAQ

Is Take Profit Trader legit?

Yes — TPT is a US-based futures prop firm with a public payout history and an active community of funded traders. As with any firm, profitability depends on respecting the published rules.

What account types does Take Profit Trader offer?

The current product is the PRO Evaluation, a single-step program available in $25K, $50K, $100K, and $150K sizes. Passing the eval converts to a funded PRO account paying 80% up to $10K in cumulative payouts and 90% after.

What is the daily loss limit on Take Profit Trader?

PRO evaluations have an intraday daily loss limit calculated from the prior session's end-of-day balance. Sizes scale with the account: roughly $500 (25K), $1,100 (50K), $2,200 (100K), and $3,300 (150K). Touching the line ends the day — there's no soft breach.

How does the trailing drawdown work?

Funded PRO accounts use an end-of-day trailing drawdown — it trails your highest EOD balance, not intraday peaks. Once your EOD balance clears starting balance plus the trailing amount, the floor locks at starting balance and stays there.

How fast are Take Profit Trader withdrawals?

Withdrawals are one of TPT's stronger areas — traders consistently report fast turnaround once a request is approved. Specific cadence and minimum amount can change; verify current terms in the PRO Account Agreement before planning around them.

Take Profit Trader vs Topstep — which is better?

Topstep has the longer track record and a deeper rule library; TPT typically wins on promo pricing and payout speed. Both lock the funded drawdown floor once cleared, but the exact mechanics and consistency expectations differ. See our dedicated Topstep vs Take Profit Trader comparison for the rule-by-rule view.

Take Profit Trader vs MyFundedFutures — which fits more traders?

MyFundedFutures offers more optionality (multiple plan styles, including instant-funding-feel Milestone). TPT is the simpler, single-program choice with one clear rule stack. Choose MFFU if you want to match the plan to your style; choose TPT if you want fewer decisions and a fast payout rail.

Does Take Profit Trader have a discount code?

TPT runs frequent sitewide promos on PRO evaluations. PropFirmV does not currently host a verified TPT code — when one becomes available it will be listed on the discounts hub.

PropFirmV Verdict

Take Profit Trader is one of the cleaner single-step futures evaluations on the market: one program, a clear rule stack, fast payouts, and frequent discounts. The catch is the strict intraday daily loss limit — disciplined day traders will thrive, swing traders or anyone who dislikes daily caps should compare against Topstep, MyFundedFutures, and Tradeify before buying.
